Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you offer speech therapy?

At Daylight Speech Services, we offer flexible speech therapy options to best serve your family’s needs. We partner with local daycares and preschools, providing on-site therapy during their business hours to make it convenient for both parents and children. Additionally, we are excited to announce the opening of our dedicated therapy space, where we will offer appointment-based sessions. Whether through our daycare and preschool partnerships or our in-office appointments, we are committed to making speech therapy accessible, individualized, and convenient for you.

Do you take insurance?

Currently, we operate on a private pay basis. However, we can provide detailed superbills for our services, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. While we do not directly bill insurance, we are happy to provide a superbill after each appointment.

What is a superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt or statement that includes all the necessary information for insurance companies to process claims and reimbursements for services provided. It typically includes provider information, patient information, dates of service, CPT codes, diagnosis codes, and payment details. You can submit a superbill to your insurance company to request reimbursement, depending on your plan and coverage. Some insurance providers may cover therapy services, so a superbill helps facilitate this process.

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

Determining if your child needs speech therapy can depend on various factors, such as their age, developmental milestones, and specific communication challenges. Here are some signs that may indicate your child could benefit from speech therapy:

  • Speech Delays: If your child is not meeting typical speech milestones, such as speaking their first words by age 1 or combining two words by age 2, it may be a sign that they need additional support.

  • Articulation Issues: If your child’s speech is difficult to understand, even by familiar family members, or if they have trouble pronouncing certain sounds correctly (such as “r,” “s,” or “th”), speech therapy can help.

  • Language Comprehension: Difficulty understanding simple instructions or responding appropriately to questions could signal a language delay.

  • Social Challenges: If your child struggles to engage in conversation, share ideas, or follow social cues during play, they might need support in developing social communication skills.

  • Frequent Frustration: If your child becomes easily frustrated when trying to communicate or has tantrums due to communication challenges, this could indicate that they are struggling to express themselves.

If you're concerned about your child’s speech or language development, we encourage you to call us for a free consultation. During the consultation, we can discuss your child’s specific needs and determine whether moving forward with a comprehensive evaluation is the right next step. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get professional guidance before committing to an evaluation.

At Daylight Speech Services, we’re here to support you and help your child develop their communication skills.
